Kelly was a gentle and calming influence in the last stages of our pregnancy, and a valuable support during labor. She was sensitive and encouraging, she listened to our fears and requests, helped us navigate the unknown waters (I was a first time mom), and worked seamlessly with the midwives and nurse at the birth center. In addition, she visited us at home after the birth and provided advice and encouragement on breastfeeding and postpartum recovery. We also really appreciated that she took some photos of us during labor, as we hadn't thought of that before and wanted some visual reminders of the experience. Kelly was an incredible asset to my birth. As a first time Mom, I had no idea what to expect from my birthing experience, but I knew I wanted a doula. I went into labor hoping for a natural birth, but keeping an open mind to some interventions. Kelly provided support and encouragement and helped me find my inner strength and therefore stay true to what it was I truly wanted. I labored for 26 hours, and once Kelly arrived at the hospital she didn't leave my side. She helped my husband too and he was very glad for her presence and her knowledge. Just knowing she was there was a real comfort to me, but she also offered many techniques for helping me through my labor, such as essential oils and massage. Not only that, but she provided information for me during my last trimester whenever I had questions about things that were important to me, like natural induction or pregnancy induced hypertension. She always responded quickly and thoughtfully and I really valued both her knowledge and her kindness. I am so glad I found her, and I fully plan on hiring her when we try for baby #2!!  ~Edith
